First Fridays Long Beach Photo Gallery
The mission of First Fridays is to promote and support local artists and musicians by providing them with an outlet to showcase their work. Every first Friday night of the month, participating Bixby Knolls businesses will unite to promote local artists and musicians through extended operating hours. In doing so we hope to encourage a dialogue between businesses, artists and the community.

The EXPO Building is a City of Long Beach Redevelopment Agency owned building that the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association leases for use as a neighborhood arts and culture center.Dragster Expo & Car Show Photo Slideshow
The Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association in conjunction with the City of Long Beach 8th District Councilperson, Rae Gabelich, and The Sea Festival organizes The Bixby Knolls Dragster Expo & Car Show each year. The Expo features restored vintage top fuel dragsters from the Lion’s Drag Strip days of the 1950’s and 1960’s. Also featured is a car show that includes more than 150 classic cars, street rods, and specialty cars. The Expo is a family friendly event that brings people from all over Southern California to check out the variety of cars on display on Saturday, July 10, 2010 from 3pm-9pm.

Bixby Knolls Strollers Slideshow
Everyone is welcome! Business owners, residents, friends and family are encouraged to join the Bixby Knolls Strollers a neighborhood walking club that meets every Saturday morning at 7:30am. at It's A Grind Coffeehouse (4245 Atlantic Ave). It's a great way to get fit, check out the businesses, explore the neighborhoods, and meet your neighbors. (Friendly) dogs are welcome, too. LaunderPet will provide bags to dog owners. The walks last for about an hour. Route changes each week.
Bixby Knolls Literary Society
The Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association holds the monthly community book club, the Bixby Knolls Literary Society, at various venues in Bixby Knolls. The Society will focus on current releases as well as American classics. Special guest discussion leaders and authors will participate in the group discussions. The Society meets the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm. Coffee and dessert are provided.
