RESOURCES FOR BUSINESSES
Yelp Resources
Yelp allows consumers to share the experiences they've had with local businesses and lets business owners share information about their business with their customers. Simply put, it's word of mouth-- amplified. Our business owner page, www.yelp.com/business is a helpful guide that walks you through more common questions and shows you how to quickly claim your business page. (click for more info)
Over 27 million people visited Yelp last month to make spending decisions. To help business owners get the most out of their online presence, Yelp offers a suite of FREE tools for business owners.
- Communicate with your customers-- privately and publicly
- Track how many people view your business page
- Add photos, a detailed business description, up-to-date information, history, and specialties
- Announce special offers and upcoming events
- Recommend other businesses
A couple great examples of claimed Yelp business pages? Kafé Neo and Belmont Pets & Launderpet. Be sure to click on their "About this Business" tab as well, to see all of the helpful info they posted for yelpers. Here's an example of a dentist, Dr. Coates, who has claimed his Yelp business page, and is also a paying Yelp sponsor. You can even claim your page and add an offer if you don't have any reviews yet, just like ohso! design did.
If you have any trouble claiming your business page, or you have any other questions at all, please feel free to email me anytime at hazel@yelp.com - I'll gladly help! If you'd like me to speak directly with your business association, I'm more than happy to as well. We also host events for yelpers all over town to get more exposure for local businesses, if you're interested in partnering up to host a Yelp event, please contact me and we'll brainstorm some fun ideas to get yelpers to your business!
