"Casablanca Night"

Thank you to everyone that attended Casablanca Night. Saw lots of folks from our neighborhoods hanging out together. The band was great, the staff at the club was accommodating as usual, and the dance floor was swinging all night. Highlights included: our very own Humphrey Bogart cutting’ a rug. Neena Strichart and her gang of card sharks having a hot game going in the card room. Helen Borgers from KKJZ digging every song. Candy Girl making her rounds from table to table offering treats. Cigars being hand rolled. A cast of characters right out of the movie sashayed around the club. Marcos & Elise provided dance lessons. Did you buy your $20 “After Five Club” VIP membership yet? We did. Send us your ideas for themes.

Mark your calendar for Friday, January 23, 2009, 8:00pm to 1:00am, for a special night at the Long Beach Petroleum Club. The Petroleum Club will again be opening its doors to the community for a fun evening for people to meet and greet. It's another great opportunity for BIA members and residents to get to know each other “in the Knolls.” $5.00 cover charge (help fund the fun). Additional bars will be opened in the club and there will live music for dancing. We’ve had great turnouts for the Rat Pack and Havana nights and this time around the theme will be "Casablanca." Gather your trench coats and fez hats, sing the Marseillaise, have a cocktail and enjoy a night out together.

Come hang out in the retro bar, sit pool side and have "date night," play cards, or enjoy a tasty beverage. No membership necessary. You must remember this, a kiss is just a kiss, a sigh is just a sigh, the fundamental things apply, as time goes by. The LBPC is located at 3636 Linden Avenue.
