- On Saturday, May 10, Councilwoman Rae Gabelich is hosting her next Community Coffee. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the North Neighborhood Library, located at 5571 Orange Avenue. Please come by to hear the latest happenings in the 8th District and share any concerns or questions.
- It could be another 4 weeks before the Atlantic North off ramp is reopened. A conflict between Cal Trans and Target delayed progress but the City of Long Beach secured a contractor to begin the maintenance and repairs. Stay tuned for more progress reports.
- Alsace Lorraine is relocating to 4334 Atlantic and Long Beach Arts may rent the space along side it.
- Poggio (Italian for small hill, aka knoll) Restaurant, located at 3819 Atlantic, is now open for lunch. Upon approval of their beer & wine license the restaurant will then be ready for their "grand opening" and ready to serve the community.
- Major facelifts and reconstruction continue at 3763 Atlantic and at 3600, 4150 and 3610 Long Beach Blvd.
- La Vineria Italiana, at 4100 Atlantic, looks like all the major construction is complete, including the open kitchen. It won't be long now.
- Adele Katz of Kopy Katz is looking for a new office space to rent on Atlantic. If you know of a perfect small office space for her secretarial services, please call her at (562) 595-4329.
- The BIA is working closely with Public Works and Redevelopment to get the historic light poles painted on Atlantic between Bixby and San Antonio.
- No Lines! Plenty of ATMs. New WAMU location open at 4526 Atlantic Ave. Help relieve congestion at the corner of Roosevelt Rd. and Atlantic Ave.
